For sale via e-Bay:

This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette will not sell till auction closes.

You are bidding on a 1958 Chevrolet Fuel Injected Corvette. We believe this is a 290HP vehicle. We are selling this vehicle with a Louisiana Certificate of Title branded SALVAGE/WATER DAMAGED/KATRINA VEHICLE. Prestige Auto Brokers makes no guarantees as to the condition of the vehicle. It is being sold As Is, Where Is. If possession of this vehicle is taken in Texas, State Sales Tax will be due unless you have a State Sales Tax Number. If possession is not taken in the State of Texas, then no Tax will be due.

This Corvette was in the Katrina Flood. We are not sure how deep the water was but it had to be somewhere in the dash. There was water in the engine and in the injection system. This car does run and drive; however, due to the flood damage we had to install a toggle switch so it can be started. The lights, radio, wipers, and speedometer do not work. The gages still have some watermarks in them and work, but erratically.

This vehicle has been restored at some point in its life and basically is in very good shape. On the body there is one slight chip in the paint just below the deck-lid key area. All exterior moldings and chrome look good except for the right door handle that is slightly pitted. All the glass is good. The convertible top is in good shape except for a little one-inch area that shows wear on the left side.

As far as the interior goes, the carpet shows some wear, but the seats and dash are in excellent shape. The interior chrome and metal moldings are starting to show signs of water damage.

This Corvette seems to be an all-original car. F506CS is the number stamped on the front of the block and 43737739 is stamped on the block by the bell housing. We have been told it is a 290 HP engine; however, you need to verify this for yourself.

The odometer shows 61308 miles; however the title says exempt. Since the speedometer does not work, we are not sure how accurate this is. Prestige Auto Brokers has the original books and some of the stickers. They also have been wet.

Look at the pictures; then, if you have questions, please Email us or call us so you will feel comfortable with your bid. Remember you are bidding on a rare vehicle. If you are a serious buyer,

we recommend you look at his car in person.
